The journey.....
Meet Sunil the man behind Moody Meat Market and Grocery—originally a Himalayan guy who set out from Nepal to Japan with dreams of becoming an engineer, only to discover a newfound passion for butchery.
In his early twenties, starting as a part-time meat packer in a Japanese meat plant he quickly realized his affinity for the industry and decided to dive into the world of Japanese butchery.
He found himself side by side with some of the most skilled Japanese butchers, mastering the art in an impressively short span. His dedication and skill set him apart, eventually earning him the title of head butcher in a prominent plant—making him the only non-Japanese butcher in all of Tokyo.
In addition to his meaty pursuits, he ventured into the culinary world, opening a fusion Nepali restaurant in Tokyo. However, life took a turn after the Fukushima Tsunami, leading him to a new chapter in Canada.
Recently fate smiled upon him, and he soon became the proud proprietor of Moody Meat Market and Grocery in the vibrant city of Port Moody, BC—a dream fulfilled.
Now, armed with a wealth of experience Sunil takes immense pride in offering essential grocery staples to the Tri-Cities community. Step into our store to explore and savour the unique flavors that Sunil's remarkable journey brings to the heart of Port Moody.
